Where is the card data actually stored?
Card data is tokenized and stored by your PCI-DSS Level 1 payment processor (Square, Stripe, or Clover) — never on Talopet's servers and never inside your salon. We only hold a reference token. If our database were ever breached, no real card number could be reconstructed from it.
Do clients know their card is being kept on file?
Yes. Clients explicitly authorize card-on-file storage at booking, with a clear consent message naming each scenario you'll charge for (no-shows, late cancellations, deposits, end-of-visit checkout). The authorization is timestamped and stored on the appointment record.
Can I automatically charge for no-shows and late cancellations?
