Our Promise

The Talopet
Manifesto

Software should respect the people who use it. Here is where we stand.

Talopet is built for people who run real grooming businesses. People who show up early, stay late, and care deeply about their work.

Pet grooming is not a software category. It is a trade — physical, relational, and often stressful. The last thing a salon owner should have to fight on a Saturday morning is their own tools. We think software for groomers has drifted in the wrong direction for years: overpriced, overcomplicated, and quietly engineered to trap the businesses that depend on it. This page is the set of commitments we are making to do the opposite.

01. Autonomy

Software should work for you—not own you.

Most business software products are built like a maze. Easy to enter. Hard to leave. Data locked away. Workflows trapped. Fees hiding in the corners.

We don't believe in that kind of power. Talopet is built to earn your trust every day—not hold it hostage.

That means short contracts, obvious exit paths, and features that work for you rather than the platform. If we ever catch ourselves designing against the groomer's interest — hiding a fee, gating a basic feature, making data harder to get at — we consider that a bug, not a business model. We fix it.

02. Ownership

Your business is not our asset.

Your customers are not "records." Your history is not leverage. Your data is not a bargaining chip.

It's yours. All of it.

If you are unhappy with the product and want to leave, we will not hold you hostage. We will never lock your content, client list, or data.

You can access it. Export it. Move it. No phone calls. No penalties. No quiet resistance. Ownership should feel obvious.

One-click CSV export for your clients, pets, bookings, invoices, and communication history is available directly from your dashboard — no support ticket, no approval queue, no "retention specialist" on the line asking why you want to leave. If we ever decide to sunset the product, you will have plenty of time and zero friction to take your data elsewhere.

03. Fairness

We don't take a cut of your work.

We don't believe in growing by quietly skimming from small businesses. We don't believe in taking a cut that forces your family to struggle so ours can eat.

Use the payment provider you prefer. Switch if you need to. Keep more of what you earn.

Talopet stays in its lane—supporting your business without quietly taxing it.

Our plans are flat-rate, month-to-month, and cover unlimited staff members. We do not charge per user, per booking, per SMS-above-a-low-cap, or per client record. Your revenue growing should grow your business, not our invoice.

04. Simplicity

Simple, reliable, and thoughtfully built.

We care about details most people never see. Clean integrations. Fast systems. Fewer moving parts.

Not because it sounds impressive—but because your day is busy enough already. The best software doesn't demand attention. It quietly does its job and gets out of the way.

We try to make every part of Talopet feel inevitable — the way a well-organized toolkit feels inevitable to a craftsperson. A new groomer on your team should be able to sit down, open the calendar, and understand what they are looking at in under a minute. If a feature needs a tutorial video, we consider that a failure of design, not a training opportunity.

05. Sustainability

How we stay in business without squeezing yours.

A fair question: if Talopet does not lock you in, does not skim your payments, and does not charge per staff member — how does it make money?

The answer is simple. We charge a predictable monthly subscription and we aim to deliver so much value per dollar that most grooming businesses replace four to six other subscriptions when they move to us. The math has to work for a solo groomer in a home studio and for a twelve-chair salon with two locations. If the math stops working at either end, we fix the product — not the invoice.

We are not chasing the kind of growth that requires wringing more revenue out of the same customer every quarter. We would rather grow by being the software grooming professionals quietly recommend to each other at trade shows and in Facebook groups.

06. Focus

We build for pet groomers, not "small business" in general.

Generic CRM tools treat a grooming salon like any other small business. They ask you to model pets as "custom fields," squeeze recurring services into generic invoice templates, and explain vaccine tracking to support reps who have never seen a Poodle.

Talopet is shaped around coat types, service lengths, deshedding upcharges, rebooking intervals, and the specific anxiety of a Saturday morning double-book. The AI phone receptionist is trained on grooming conversations — pricing by coat, add-on questions, vaccine requirements, which breeds take longer — not generic customer service scripts.

Focus means we say no to a lot of adjacent markets. That is a feature, not a limitation.

Our line in the sand.

We will never trap your data.
We will never force your payments.
We will never grow by limiting your choices.

If Talopet helps your business thrive, that's success. If it doesn't, you should be free to walk away.

That freedom is not a risk to us.
It's the point.
